Road Trip 2012: Saturday 10/20

No miles on the truck, and still parked at Stan and Betsy Johnston's home in Fort Collins.

Another beautiful day in Colorado.  Zoey and I went for an early walk.  Just as we were stepping out the door, a hot air balloon was lifting off at the end of the street where the high school fields are located.  Apparently a local balloon owner does this quite often.

After breakfast, we went for a long walk along the Riverbend Ponds area that are part of the Fort Collins Recreation Department.

After the walk, we went to the Old Town section of Fort Collins for lunch.  Old Town is the historic and original section of Fort Collins that has been turned into a vibrant area of shops and restaurants that is very bike and dog friendly.  This Downtown district has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.  We found an outdoor cafe where Zoey was welcome and had a great, relaxing lunch.

After lunch, it was time for a nap, and then we caught the early evening showing the new movie, The Bourne Legacy.  Later, back at the house, we sat around visiting, web searching, photo sharing, reminiscing, and drinking wine.  Next thing you know, it's midnight.  Yikes.  Third time on this trip I've made it past midnight.  :-)

On Sunday Zoey and I get back on the road and continue our eastward trek.  I plan to be at Matt and Jaime's in West Virginia on Thursday afternoon for my last stop before arriving home in Gouverneur on Sunday evening.
