Retirement Road Trip 2011: Day 22, Friday 9/16

0 miles, still camped at Cory's in Roseburg, Oregon.

Today Cory, Dave and I fished the Northern Umpqua River.  Cory caught a nice Cutthroat Trout.  Dave and I ended up rationalizing the trip as "enjoying the great outdoors." In other words, we didn't catch anything.  Ann got her relaxation today by being away from the guys.  She stayed back and made spaghetti sauce from Cory's few tomato plants and blackberry pie from Cory's blackberry bushes. We came home to a great locavore meal.

I'll post a few pictures from the day.  You will note that Cory and Dave have all the proper fishing garb on.  I prefer to think of my style as minimalist.  :-)

The North Umpqua is a beautiful river with clear, cold water.  It was a great way to spend the day!

Saturday we are off to the Oregon coast and spend some time along the ocean.
