292 miles: Camped at my son Cory's house in
Roseburg, Oregon.

Cory's house in Roseburg, Oregon. I took the camper off the truck because I'm going to be here for a few days. |
We got going about 7:30 this morning. Fort Stevens State Park has some beautiful beachfront on the Pacific Ocean. One of the attractions of the beach, other than the sand and surf, is the wreck of the ship
Peter Iredale, which ran aground in 1906. Over the last 96 years the steel ship has gradually rusted and deteriorated. But the remains are still visible, and even starkly beautiful in the morning sunlight.

I will be back to northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. There is so much to see and do here. There are several Lewis and Clark National Historical Parks that I want to explore more. There is Mt. St. Helens, the Columbia River, Mt. Hood, and more.
By 8:30 Zoey and I were out of the park and on the way to Roseburg. Cory was expecting us about 2:00. We pulled in at 2:15 and promptly had a cold beer with him. I took the camper off the truck because I was going to be here for a few days. Its about a 20 minute job to take the camper off, and another 20 minutes to put it back on. Cory's dog Tyler, and Zoey were reunited and hit it off big time. The plans for the next few days are in limbo, but I'll be here all next week. Then a week from today, its off to Mt. Shasta.
More later..............
